A tradition at Valley UU, Coming of Age uses principles of Unitarian Universalism to highlight the transition from childhood to the teenage years and emerging adulthood. The program takes advantage of the diversity of Unitarian Universalist ideas and principles to give a foundation for a lifelong search for truth and meaning, a commitment to service, justice, peace and environmental stewardship. The program is offered to 9th & 10th grade youth.

The program runs Jan 22 – May 7 and includes 9 Sunday afternoon workshops, one over night gathering, and a Saturday team building day in Tucson. In addition the youth will be paired with mentors from the congregation.  Youth will meet their mentors at a kick-off picnic on February 5th and meet meet independently monthly.

Our Coming of Age banquet and congregational ceremony will be May 5th and 7th respectively.
