2018 Summer programming for Children and Youth
Sundays, June 3 – September 2
Volunteers needed: 1) Teachers in the elementary classroom 2) Shop and donate the ingredients we need for the cooking class 3) Pick up library books we need for each class
Infants – 4 year olds: Open play with our childcare staff. Childcare is available every Sunday 8:30 am – 12:30 pm, room 6 in the Education complex.
Kindergartners – 5th graders: Begin with families in the VUU sanctuary. Sign children in at the Faith Formation welcome table. Children meet teachers outside the sanctuary after Time For All Ages. Families pick up children in room 1 in the education complex at 11:45 am, all children must be signed out after class.

Children cook the *food discussed • Games, crafts, and/or activities from the part
in the story. of the world discussed in the story.

Pick up the books we need
Purchase food supplies and/or join us in class
Youth in 6th grade – recent HS grads: meet in room 5 at 10:30 am (skip the sanctuary). Youth sign themselves in to the class.
Summer Topic: Being a Global Citizen
- What does it mean to be a “Global Citizen”?
- Topics that affect all citizens
- What do these topics have to do with me?
- What can I do about any of these topics?
- How to have discussion with someone who disagrees with me
A variety of guest speakers include the Rev. Dr. Andy Burnette, immigration attorney Jillian Kong-Sivert, Planned Parenthood, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, and Sue Ringler from I-Help.
