“Coming of Age Service”
Please join us on this dynamic morning to hear from the thirteen high school youth who have completed the church’s Coming of Age program. In addition to community and church service, monthly workshops, and three weekend-long retreats, the youth have spent time creating their personal credos. They were challenged to be creative and find ways to express how they believe in whatever way was moving to them, whether it is music, art, photography, dance, written word, or any other means of expression. This morning will be a fascinating service woven with what the youth have to share about their views on the world and themselves.
| | Sunday, May 25 |
“What did Jesus mean when he said: Turn the other cheek?”
This Sunday we will explore one of the most provocative and least followed of Jesus’ sayings. We will explore what meaning it might hold for us today and look at some of the issues these words raise about non- violence, forgiveness and irony.
Every year at our Heart’s Desire Auction (that benefits both our chosen charity and our congregation and will be held on May 10) our minister offers up a sermon topic of your choice. This is the topic chosen by last year’s highest bidder. If you want to choose one yourself, come to the auction on May 10th and bid on it!
