In the Meantime
Almost forgot to write something this week. Go over to the VUU Facebook page to find out why, and see what I am up to back in Michigan. Anyway, it is good to remember that the so-called first Thanksgiving (there’s a story and a half about that) was gratitude for survival. Those pitiful pilgrims had endured a brutal winter and what they called the ‘starving time’ that killed almost half their number. Everything depended on the fall harvest, which luckily was enough. After losing a quarter million to Covid and millions more sick, we are all grateful for survival. And like those first pilgrim folk, our survival depends on help from others. Lift a glass to those who helped you make it through the year.
Also in this issue an invitation from the Transition Team to take part in what Interim Clergy call The History Project. This is a joint effort of all the people that are part of VUU, and the Team will be inviting you to take part not just partake. It is vital the work we do as we prepare for your next settled minister, so please read and take part. -FW-
