Using a policy-based governance model and having been elected by the congregation to act as responsible stewards of VUU resources, the Board sets the overall vision for VUU and provides leadership in ensuring that VUU fulfills its mission. The Board facilitates progress toward our vision and mission through linkage and constant communication with our staff, committees, and the congregation.
Each of the seven members of the Board of Trustees may serve for no more than three consecutive full two-year terms. Following that, a two-year hiatus is required before they may again serve on the VUU Board. Meetings are on Zoom, the fourth Thursday of each month 5:30-6:50 p.m. An agenda, set several days before the meeting, allows Board members to review meeting information thoroughly. Additional Trustees meetings are held as necessary, Board Retreats are held at least annually.
