Great news! We made it across the country with 2 cats, a dog, 3 adults and one teenager in 3 cars with a trailer…in the middle of high temperatures! From Macon, GA to Phoenix, AZ with many, many stops along the way we have arrived and begun the business of finding a home, getting ready for our new jobs and school, and all the details of moving our lives here. Sol was able to go to camp with One-n-ten in July after we arrived, and we have learned to get up early for the dog walk and wait til sunset to get out a second time. We’ve taken advantage of free air conditioning in malls and movie theaters and museums. And now, I am getting ready to begin ministry at Valley Unitarian Universalist! I am setting up meetings and organizing my calendar for the year, preparing to take the baton Fred has passed to me and to join the VUU team to support the ongoing work of building community and working for justice. I am excited to deepen my understanding of VUU and develop our vision for shared ministry in Chandler, AZ and beyond. I am also excited to get to know VUU members and your stories, concerns, needs, dreams and commitments so that this work will reflect the vibrancy and complexity of this congregation. It will be a time for you to get to know me, too, and for us to begin to see each other’s gifts and challenges as we fill in the details for the year ahead. I’ll be sharing information on how to set up appointments with me next week, so stay tuned!
