Desert Notes

This week I have begun meeting and scheduling meetings with VUU leadership, getting to know the people and the priorities as we begin our ministry together.  Next week I will begin regular office hours and will continue setting up one-on-one and small group meet-ups.  I hope to meet with most of those in elected and volunteer leadership roles in August and September and will also look forward to joining meetings and gatherings that are regularly scheduled. While this is a time for me to get to know all of you, I want to encourage you also to see this as a time to deepen your own connections at VUU. During this time of pandemic, I know I’ve had to work harder to get to know new people, maintain relationships with people I am already close to, and reach out to people I know but haven’t gotten to know well.  I invite all of you to also consider reaching out and to start new conversations, revisit old conversations, and consider new conversation partners.  In this way, our new ministry can also be a time of renewal for all of us.
